Entry Fee

Marathon: $70 if postmarked or online on or before December 31st, 2008
$80 if postmarked or online before April 1st, 2009
$90 if postmarked or online before May 1st, 2009

$100 if postmarked or online after May 2nd, 2009

There is a maximum of 1700 runners in the marathon. If we do not fill up, registration will be allowed only on Friday May 22, 2009 at packet pick-up. There will be no race day registration for the marathon. Finisher medals are awarded to all marathon finishers. The top five finishers in each age group receive place medals.

Marathon Start Time is 7:00AM.The marathon is an out a back course along the west shore of East Grand Traverse Bay. The course is flat, fast, and extremely scenic. All marathoners will receive a Brooks Podium short sleeve technical running shirt with the Bayshore Marathon Logo . The shirt is designed to be "relaxed fit" so if you like a tight fit - think about ordering 1 size smaller. Again this year all women marathoners will receive a "women's" sized Brooks Podium short sleeve technical running shirt with the Bayshore Marathon Logo that is again designed to be "relaxed" fit for women. If you register as a male you will receive a man's shirt - if you register as a female you will receive a women's shirt. No exceptions! Half Marathon: $60 if postmarked or online on or before Dec. 31st, 2008

$70 if postmarked or online before April 1st, 2009

$80 if postmarked or online before May 1st, 2009

$90 if postmarked or online after May 2nd, 2009

Half Marathon Start Time is 7:00AM.The Bayshore Half Marathon will be capped at 1500 runners. If we do not fill up, registration will be allowed only on Friday May 22nd, 2009 at packet pick-up. There will be no race day registration for the Half Marathon. Finisher medals are awarded to all finishers in the half marathon. Medals are awarded to the top 5 finishers in each age group.

The Bayshore Half Marathon is a point to point race that runs along the west shore of East Grand Traverse Bay. It is the second half of the marathon course so it too is flat, fast, and extremely scenic. All half marathoners will receive a Brooks Podium short sleeve technical running shirt with the Bayshore Half Marathon Logo . The shirt is designed to be "relaxed fit" so if you like a tight fit - think about ordering 1 size smaller. All women Half marathoners will receive a "women's" sized Brooks Podium short sleeve technical running shirt that is again designed to be "relaxed" fit for women. Half Marathon entrants will be bussed out to the start of the race from the Traverse City Central High School (Eastern Ave entrance). Because of the remote location of the start - you will be required to take the bus. Only registered Half Marathon runners will be allowed on the busses. You must show your Half Marathon bib when boarding the bus so please have it ready.The busses will leave beginning at 5:30AM with the last bus leaving at 6:15AM. There is no parking at the start. Roads will be closed and the nearest you will be able to be dropped of will be about 1 1/2 miles away. Busses will be allowed to drop off close to the Start area. We will supply bags for your warm-up clothing on the bus and those bags will be delivered to the finish area.


10K Run: $20 if postmarked or online on or before April 1st, 2009
$25 if postmarked or online anytime after April 1st, 2009 until race day.
$15 for ages 19 and under at all times

Race Day registration for the 10K Run is allowed.

10K Start Time is 7:15AM.The 10K is an out and back course along the west shore of East Grand Traverse Bay. It is a flat and fast course. All 10K registrants will receive a specially designed short sleeve cotton t-shirt.

 

Entry Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

All net proceeds go to charity and are non-refundable and non-transferable for any reason. Sorry no exceptions. Once we receive your entry, you will not receive a refund. If you cannot participate, you may not give or sell your number to anyone else. If you are registered for the Marathon you may transfer to the Half Marathon (if you registered for the Marathon before the Half Marathon fills ) or 10K without any refund of the difference. You can also transfer from the Half Marathon to the 10K without a refund of the difference. There is a $10.00 fee to transfer races. All transfers must be made before May 1st, 2009.

Check-in/ Packet Pick-Up

              Registration and packet pick-up for the Bayshore Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K will                        be held at the Traverse City Central High School Gym. Hours will be on Friday night,                              May 22nd from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on race day from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Race                   Day  registration will be available for the 10K only. If you are pre registered for the Marathon                or Half Marathon you can still pick up your packet on Saturday beginning at 5:00 a.m.                          For driving directions and a map click here.

 

ChronoTrack "D-Tags" New for 2009

This year, the race will be using a new lightweight, disposable timing tag. This will save all runners lots of time after they finish the race. Learn more by reading this PDF or watching this VIDEO .

Marathon Prize Money

The first place male and female finisher in the 2007 Traverse City State Bank Bayshore Marathon will receive a check for $1000, second place will receive $500 and third place will receive $250. In addition, a $1000 bonus will be paid to the first place male and female winners under the course records set by Jeff Sharp in 1983 (2:17:40) and Marybeth Reader in 2008 (2:46:23). All finishers in the marathon and half marathon will receive a specially designed finisher medal. The top five finishers in each age group are awarded place medals in all races.
